    Any personal experiences with the handheld ham radios. I see a lot of people using the beofangs, but didn’t know if those are a good way to go or not. I have zero experience with anything like these, so I’m looking to beef up my knowledge before buying. Communication is a big deal and I need to improve in this area. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    nothing from me knowledge wise but I wanted to add my personal desire to learn more on the subject as well. there is an annual HAM radio convention near me in the spring and I would appreciate a bit of basic knowledge from someone that isnt trying to sell me something at the time 🙂

    Exactly, no sales pitches needed. I’m also curious about any licensing needed.
