Something tragic happened in my area this last week and I wanted to pass it on. There was a family that had a furnace malfunction while the kids (2 teenagers and 2 pre teens) were home after school and they were found unresponsive. 3 have died of carbon monoxide poinoning so far and the 4th is in critical condition.

Check your CO sensors, if you dont have any, get some.

Great advice J. Not only do I have smoke alarms, I have CO2 sensors on every level of the house, battery life of 10 years I think. Bought them at Costco for around $25 each.

double check them, CO2 and CO are different and not all CO2 sensors will pick them up. The better quality ones will but a lot of the more basic CO2 sensors wont read CO.
