OK… The power is out and you just burned the last drop of fuel in your generators.
What can you build or repair with the tools in your shop?
Sure you have a hammer. Wood handle? What happens if that breaks? Do you have nails? How many sizes? You can’t shore up a sagging house or secure a door with picture frame nails. 16 penny is for that. 8 penny is good for plywood type activities.
Sure you have a hand saw. What types? I have 2 cross-cuts for lumber. Rip saw for sheeting. Hack saw for metal (with 25 extra blades). 2.5 foot brush saw and ALL are sharp.
Hand drill. Called a brace & bit for wood. Crank type drill for metal. And all the bits are sharp.
Welding. Well there is no power so no welding. But with acetylene and oxygen you can braze metal. Maybe not as strong as welding but can plug leaks and join lite metals.
Files for sharping tools.
Wrecking bar. 3 foot or better. Cat’s paw for de-nailing
Hand (foot) pump. For inflatables and bikes. Patching for same.
I guess it’s enough to say, every time we plug in a “power” device we all should be thinking how we would do the work without watts.

Arguing with our pilots is like wrestling with a pig in the mud. After a while you’ll realize the pig likes it.
